San Diego House Cleaning (II) – Home Cleaning Tips from an Expert
I’ve spent almost six months intensively cleaning my new house in San Diego before I hired a professional maid to do it, and not because I couldn’t face the tasks that I had scheduled, but because it was really time consuming and I the current work that I was involved in simply needed it more. Nevertheless, what I am pointing to is that the experience gathered in this period of almost half a year offered me the chance to merely become a cleaning expert. Is there any reason for this not to be true? I figured out how to properly organize my time in order to set things straight when it you need to get daunting tasks down into daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal. I also decided which products are the best and which one should be avoided, either because of the same quality and difference in price only, or because the very safety of your family. In the end I even realized that no matter what other say, you can still go green for most activities that are related to the cleaning of your house and stop using chemical based products from your hardware store to buy them. All this experience was learned by me during those six months of daily cleaning that was really necessary to do while living in my beautiful house in San Diego.
Now I would like to share you my house cleaning tips from an expert who knows what home maintenance is all about. Don’t worry; I’m not planning to overwhelm you with unnecessary details. Just several step by step guides and points that you can easily start to implement the moment you finish to read this small guide. If some other things are less likely to be clear you can start going through the archives here on this blog and find plenty of useful information that is rather unique and won’t be able to be located somewhere else in the whole world wide web.
House cleaning tips must always start with mentioning the housecleaning tools that a responsible homeowner is going to need to get started. It’s necessary to have them all gathered before you begin as you don’t want anything else to bother you during the whole rather complicated and time consuming procedure of cleaning around your house, as it appears to be for most of the beginners out there. Using a simple bucket for gathering everything that you need for getting your home in order is a good idea since it doesn’t weight a lot and can be found in every basement of garage. Who doesn’t have a bucket in his house please leave a comment here on this page! Having this kind of tools and equipment transportation unit allows you to move with cleaning from one room to another without much effort. So this is the first important home cleaning tip for today. Next, I am going to mention several of the most widely used tools, products and equipment that you might need during the cleaning process.
So it is cool if you can get something for:
- Polishing your furniture (a furniture polish often)
- Cleaning your windows (either a simple windows cleaner or several old newspapers and some water)
- Disinfecting your bathroom (get simple antibacterial sprays that are sold everywhere)
- Cleaning your carpets and making them look fresh (a vacuum cleaner and a sweeper would be perfect)
- Throwing out the trash and emptying the can (the willpower to do it early in the morning)
- Washing your floors (a proper cleaner, usually a natural one is recommended and a mop)
- Cleaning the toilet (a lot of special cleaning solutions, maybe read bleach cleaner)
So all the above mentioned things are going to be necessary if you are really serious about going around your house and making it look really good. I remember I had a list like ten time beginner when cleaning my house in San Diego, but I already told you that my plan is not to overwhelm you guys with plenty of uninteresting information, but to offer you the cleaning basics that every beginner homeowner needs to know and that special info that can be immediately applied after finishing to read this post. This was our very important house cleaning tip number 2.
The third tip directly refers to the things in which you are planning to work. Basically you need to find some old clothes that you won’t be sorry to destroy and get dirty while doing your work. However, I also recommend to get a good pair of rubber gloves besides the rags that I’ve mentioned earlier, some protective eye-wear and face mask (to put on when using bleach cleaner) and that’s it. At least this is what I used to have when doing my own cleaning in my San Diego years of keeping the household perfectly clean, disinfected and shinnying! So, this is your third tip for today – CLOTHES and FACE EQUIPMENT. Make sure you have them just to improve your own security!
Remember that it’s always recommended to have all the necessary cleaning accessories to get the job done as fast as possible without a lot of hassle and pain. However, the list that we published before isn’t static; it can be constantly improved because you are free to add and remove all the things that you need or don’t. Just make sure that all your cleaning tools and equipment that you plan to use are going to help in your cleaning in a way or another, because otherwise there is no point in having them at all. If your sink detergent is not having the desired effect you are going to lose twice the required time because you’ll need to get back and start everything from the very beginning. Quite unpleasant, huh… well make sure that everything is top notch quality before launching your cleaning campaign, either at home or at office, no matter if you do it for yourself or just helping your friends. This is the forth (4th) most important house cleaning tip for today. So you have 4 of them already! Keep reading!
So after you’ve managed to get rid of all the things that you don’t need in any particular room and that might create some unpleasant experience during cleaning, it’s time for you to get the cleaning itself! Did you know that in order to get your house clean you actually need to do it (just kidding)? No matter what your plan is, I suggest that you are going to need to start from the top and end with the floors if you don’t want to return to cleaning the same surfaces and areas twice. This is what I’ve managed to learn while doing my house cleaning in San Diego and I see no point that you guys would follow and repeat my mistakes all over again. (Ho, so tip number 5 was just revealed! Stick with us because more are coming!) It is recommended that you first remove the cobwebs from the corners, between fixtures and ceilings as you start out. If you have any pictures hanging on your house walls make sure you remove the dust from them in the first place and also use a dust sweeper to remove it from the shelves where you keep your books. Remember that cleaning from top to bottom saves time, energy, nerves, tools, liquids, solutions, EVERYTHING! This is why cleaning using this particular approach is so important.
I don’t consider myself a cleaning expert and never did. However, this is how my friends called me the moment they entered my house in San Diego. They were simply amazed, everything was shining just like in a palace where there are 30 servants cleaning all day long. So this is why you have to implement the above mentioned tips! Cleanliness is probably the very first thing to be noticed when someone enters your house and it tells a lot about the personality and the character of a person. It has to do with laziness first of all because a hardworking person would never leave that dust waiting for something on the ceilings and on any existing shelves. By keeping your house clean you also keep illnesses and all the possible bad and negative feelings away from that place. So, take your time, make your notes, smile and get back to cleaning! Enough reading, get to work! If I would have read as much as you guys do I wouldn’t have been able to do my San Diego house cleaning properly!
